Many Ruckus products come with a term "Limited Lifetime Warranty". In this post, we'll talk more about what exactly it is, what are the restrictions and what the law is.
The Limited Lifetime Warranty comes with Ruckus ICX Switches, Unleashed Indoor APs, ZoneFlex Indoor APs, and ZoneDirector devices. Outdoor APs, SmartZone SZ-100 and SZ-300 are covered by a "1 Year Limited Hardware Warranty".
The Limited Lifetime Warranty (LLW) applies only to the original purchaser of the product. If the product is resold to a third party, Ruckus will no longer provide support to the third party.
The LLW applies to the physical parts of the product if the product has been used under the conditions specified in the instructions. Ruckus guarantees that the materials of the device are free from defects and assembly defects if the device is used as intended and throughout the life of the device. If the device is no longer produced, the LLW is valid for 5 years after the end of production. It does not include removable optical modules or LEDs covered by the one-year warranty.
For ICX switches, the LLW expires if the switch has been physically modified, the device serial number sticker has been removed, or the device has been used in abnormal conditions, ie the device has received the wrong power supply, used in adverse environmental conditions, or the device has been physically damaged.
If something goes wrong with the device, Ruckus is obliged to replace the device. The defect must be reported to Ruckus and the defective device must reach Ruckus within 30 days of the defect being confirmed.
